Cat pics

This may seem totally crazy and random but the photos were on my phone and I wanted to share them with you. Here are photos I have taken of my cat & my adoptive cats (who live next door).

This is Strausse, he enjoys pretending he's a kitten when he is actually almost 3.

He also has a thing for bags.

This is my beautiful babe. Jester, he is 20 and the most perfect cat ever.

And this is Levi. He acts too cool for school unless there is a makeshift playground (AKA an old bed going to the tip) in the garden.

These are my kitties.

Sorry if I bored you.

Re-discover your old makeup

This is a challenge for all you little munchkins out there (whether you have a blog or not) I want you to have a look through all your makeup.. and I mean all of it. I want you to find some old favourites and re-discover your makeup not just the pieces on the top.

I don't know a single person who doesn't hoard their makeup and I am a number one offender so I too am joining in. I am also going to try and rope in a few beauty bloggers to post up their favourite old pieces.

We all read loads of posts on the new and exciting things that have just been released but I for one want to read about all the other bits too!

So go go go, lets re-discover the old favourites and save ourselves some money!

NYC Colour Palette Eyeshadow Cupcakes & Coffee Review

I picked up this ey eshadow freaking months ago and I am finally getting around to doing a review, it is from the NYC colour collection that Superdrug stock.

I did a review on on of their mascaras -Link- which turned out to be amazing and only £3.99. At the same time I picked up this sneaky little eye shadow quad for £3.49 in colour 'Cupcakes and coffee' that is just too adorable.

(Flash off) as you can see the colours in this palette are all pretty similar apart from the deep purple.

The packaging is sweet and simple with a nice click as it closes (love a good click) it also gives you a basic idea of how to use the colours following the shape in the palette. Nifty.

With the flash on the pale colours really do turn into one and I can't help but think if they were all used together in photos it would only look like only two colours.

Down to the nitty gritty, they are surprisingly long lasting, have a lot of shimmer to them but not a sickly amount and blend really well. They aren't overly chalky and don't have too much fall out.

Basically what I am trying to say is for £3.50 they are great, I just wish the colours were a little more varied and that NYC colourwould be more widely available.

Have you tried NYC Colour yet? What do you think of the range?

The aftermath of contouring..

As a follow on to my contour post from last night this was the aftermath..

Face contouring for the first time

Okay so I might be a bit behind the band wagon on this whole 'lets draw lines on our faces' band wagon, but after watching this tutorial on YouTube - Link -  I couldn't help but think even I could do it without screwing up.

So off I trotted to Boots on my lunch break and luckily Maybelline still had 3 for 2 on so I picked up two of their Fit Me foundations in colours 120 Vanille and 315 Miel foolishly thinking 315 would be dark enough but I will get onto that. I also picked up one of their Dream Lumitouch concealers in 02 Nude, I also used Sleek's face contour kit and rose gold blush and Pixi Woo's Real Techniques face brush set (courtesy of Amazon Prime this post was able to go up today, woo free trial).

So watch the video and I followed it step for step, pausing and copying like the best do. Sadly because I hadn't picked up the darkest Fit Me shade as I thought I had to use the Sleek powder to go back over certain patches but I don't think it turned out too bad in the end.

This was my finished result.

Being someone who only wears foundation on a very special occasion I can't tell if its the contouring or the fact I actually have on a full face of makeup that makes me look alive.

I will let you be the judges!

Have you tried contouring? How did it turn out?

Storage bed

In my current bedroom which is my childhood bedroom at least 1/3 of it is taken up by wardrobe space. I previously had a double bed with two storage drawers that contained most of my shoes but recently I jumped on board the ottoman storage bed band wagon and I have to say it feels like I have so much more space now.

I also love being able to see all my shoes.

This bed base came from amazon for £112. Bargain!

Blake Lively curls

Lets face it Blake Lively has the best hair in the whole world, no questions asked.
As I was flipping through April's Glamour magazine yesterday there was a whole interview with her filled with her beauty tips and tricks including how she gets her hair to have such beautiful waves.
She claims its as simple as after every wash twisting it on top of her head into a bun or multiple buns if she wants extra wave. Being someone who hates heat styling I had to give it a go last night and these were the amazing results!

I now feel I need to write a letter to Blake and tell her that I owe her my life. I am so freaking pleased!
