Primark shoe liner review

It is not often I find myself needing to review a Primark item but this needs to be done.

IF you see these, do not buy them! EVER.

They basically cut off circulation to your feet, think I am exaggerating look at this photo..

This wasn't even after a whole day of walking, this was after sitting in the cinema watching Spiderman 2. The price tag may be tempting but they are god awful. Sorry Primark.

Re-discovering hair tools

I bought this curling tong freaking donkey's years ago. Seriously I mean like 5 years+ but only recently have I started using it.

I wanted a soft wavy look and these Toni&Guy curlers delivered. I loved the finish look the only problem was they really didn't hold for very long *sadface*.

This was the result shortly after curling but I did have to go back in with my GHDs to make them hold. Waaah. I am going to try again with more styling products to see if that makes a difference.

Outfits of the week!

It's been a little while I know but being unemployed means you can rock PJ bottoms all day. However there are some days I have had to put on real clothes and here they are..

First up is from when the sun was shining. This crop top is from ASOS it was in the sale a few months back for £2.50. Paired it with my Jamie jeans from Topshop.

Repping the sailor vibe, striped tee from Dorothy Perkins, Topshop Leigh jeans and Taylor Swift Keds.

Both of these were for job interviews, the first is almost totally Tesco. Both jacket and pencil skirt from their, grey marl tee from TKMaxx and Marks and Spencers nude pumps.

Channeling Kim Kardashian in this one, again skirt is from Tesco sale and a plain black tee from Zara.

I will try my hardest to remember to photograph my outfits this week!

McBusted @ The O2

Words can't even explain how amazing that concert was. My love affair with Busted started TWELVE years ago and even after all these years of waiting they did not disappoint.

A full review with pictures and proper sentances will be going up on BabbleAvenue over the weekend so keep your eyes over there.

Primark, Zara and Next haul

Over the Easter weekend my boyfriend and I took a trip up the M4 to Swindon to visit some friends, whilst staying with said friends we visited Cabot Circus in Bristol and I picked up a few items. First lets talk Primark, it was huge and had way to many goodies.

In desperate need of a new hoodie I couldn't resist this sky blue hoodie for £8.

Being in the currently shitty situation that I am I couldn't resist this Peter Pan t-shirt. Never grow up! I think it was £5.

Along with the mint green beverley hills top I picked up in Primark last time couldn't resist this 'I'm in Miami Beach' cropped boxy top. Will definitely be wearing this in Miami beach! Again £5.

One of the softest tops I have ever found in Primark is this neppy top in hot pink. I wish I had got every colour now! I think this was around the £3 mark but I've already worn it hence the guess work.

I live in joggers and jogger shorts are just as good. Couldn't walk past the blue pair especially as I am heading to Greece in 5 short weeks. These were £2.50/£3 each.

I have only recently discovered invisible socks and at £1.50 per pack of 2, total bargain.

I needed a beach bag/can get ruined by chlorine bag. This was only £3 and also comes in hot pink stripes.

The next item I picked up was from Zara and it is the softest top I have ever touched.

With two palm trees on the bust and 'sunshine' written in teenie tiny writing on the neck I couldn't walk past. This set me back £12, not too shabby.

Finally we hit up Swindon outlet shopping where I ventured into Next and picked up these printed trousers.

These were £14 in the outlet and I love them. I am living in printed trousers at the moment so I will definitely get my wear out of them.

The entire Primark shop cost me £35 and the other two being single buys I am dead chuffed with my haul. Hopefully my good luck shopping trip will carry on into my job hunt!

Oh shit.

Helloo there interweb, how are you all?

I am going to get straight to the freaking point as you know that is kind of what I do. So I took a new job which I started at on Monday which turned out to be a shit storm of lies rolled up into a neatly wrapped package. The job I took was nothing like I expected and as a result I have quit.

Now where does this leave me I hear you screaming at your computer.. this leaves me unemployed and poor! FUCK.

I am meeting with a few agencies over the next couple of days but oh hot damn, what a situation to be in!

On the plus side though this means lots more blogging, creating content for www.babbleavenue.com and generally mooching around. I will of course keep you updated with the events as they unfold, I will also be doing a post over on babbleavenue on what to do when you take the wrong job.

Eeeep. Not really sure what else to say, wish me luck.

eBay Haul

Everyone who knows me knows I love eBay. Possibly an unhealthy amount.
Not only do I love it for clearing out my wardrobe and making me cash but also for re-filling it and saving me cash. I have been picking up bits here and there for well over a month and finally got it all together for one monster haul post. So lets go!

Brandy Melville maxi skirt with split £7

Topshop maxi dress (in the style of Carrie Bradshaw) £10

Topshop playsuit £11

Fearne Cotton dress £6

Topshop shirt £5.10

Topshop dresses £7 each

Chicago Bulls jersey brand new £25
Stupid blogger won't let me rotate these picures*
Skirt from Oasis brand new £10

Topshop shorts £4.50

I also picked up another playsuit and Levi shorts that I forgot about until now.

AND on Monday I snagged myself a Marc Jacobs bag for £50 which should be at home waiting for me now.

Totally love eBay but I am now quitting. I have got the pieces I wanted at bargain prices & I don't need to keep shopping. All of this was funded by selling my old stuff so I haven't actually spent a penny yet.

New Years Resolutions update

We are well into the fourth month of 2014 and this is totally insane to me, time seems to be flying by and I have decided it is time to review my resolutions that I made back in January. You can check out my original post here -Link-

So one by one lets see how badly I am doing..

My first one was to exercise at least once a week, now I am doing this by walking places instead of driving but I think I need to take it up a gear. I am going to break the bike out of the shed and hit the road. Jack.
(If you don't understand that reference, google is your friend)

The second was to visit two new places in the world and although I haven't been yet I have got two new destinations booked and paid for. Exciting!

Third is a total fail, saving £500 a month. NO WAY am I even close but re-reading my resolutions has made me feel guilty enough to try harder.

Fourth was no more impulse shopping. Yay I have done one! I no longer click and buy, I put thought into these things and whether I actually need them or not.

Fifth is to take more photos. Although I am still not doing it as much as I want to I have had my camera out more and I feel I have taken some beautiful photos like these of Taylor Swift -Link-.

Sixth is to spend more time with friends and family, although this is a constant thing I feel I am doing this one quite well.

And finally seventh is to be grateful for what I have every day. This one is a work in progress but I am sure as hell trying.

How are your new years' resolutions going? If you didn't make any in January make some spring resolutions!

What would you like to see?

I can't quite believe that I am reaching almost 10,000 clicks on my little blog. This whole thing started just as a cure to bordem in my office job and it's nice to know there are some of you reading it out there.

However seeing as I don't have social media I don't get as much feedback as I would like from you guys so now I am asking you, what would you like to see on my blog?

It can be anything and everything so please do let me know. You can either leave me a comment below or send me an e-mail at

Can't wait to hear from you!

L'Oreal Ever Strong Conditioner Review

First up let me tell you how amazing this conditioner smells, not only does it smell great in the shower it sticks to your hair for days. It is a mint scent and I just want to smell my hair all day when I use it.

I bought this conditioner (and an Ever Pure Shampoo) because I wanted to test out no sulphates products. After the first few washes I didn't really notice a difference in my hair but by the time I had finished off the two bottles it was hard not to notice. My hair became softer, more easily managed and I noticed a lot less breakages.

I only wash my hair twice a week so this conditioner has been a constant for around 6 weeks, I do have long frizzy hair so conditioner always runs out before shampoo but this conditioner did feel like it went a long way. Not quite as much was required as usual which is a bonus for me, making it last longer and saving me pennies.

The L'Oreal Ever Pure/Strong/Sleek range are a little bit above the usual price range of regular shampoos and conditioners coming in at around £5.50 per bottle. Not and issue if like me you don't wash your hair every day, but if you do I would recommend using these once a week just to give your hair a break from the chemicals.

My final view on the range is I will definitely re-purchase and try out other variants in the line but only when they are on offer. It doesn't feel quite worthy of £6 a bottle but I do like it.

Have you tried out the new L'Oreal range? What are your thoughts?

New candle crush

As you guys may have noticed I have a thing for candles, but doesn't everyone?

On Friday 28th March it was my Mum's birthday and on top of all the usual gifts I picked her up a new giant Yankee Candle in Vanilla Chai.

First up let me tell you this candle is basically one of the best smelling candles ever, if you like spicy sweet scents you will adore this. After 30 minutes of burning our kitchen was this little slice of heaven, smelling sweet and like I wanted to eat the air. The notes are ginger, cinnamon and vanilla; I am someone who actually hates cinnamon but in this candle it is beaut.

Love love love.

I picked it up from eBay for £14, a massive £6 saving over picking it up in my local Yankee Candle store.

Share your favourite candle scents below, I am always looking for new ones!

Casually spending a small fortune on ASOS

If you guys didn't know I have got a few big events coming up over the next 6 months or so including two weddings, two holidays of dreams and starting a new job. Now I am still very much on the saving band wagon for my own little home but I need a new outfit or two to cover all of the events listed above.

What better place to hit than ASOS themselves, I picked up a few different items in the hope that some of them will be awful and I can get my money back.. but they are just so beautiful I might have to keep them all.

The first was the most lovely dress by Ted Baker in this beautiful mint green, this dress is a whopping £129 but I have decided I need a few top quality items in my wardrobe. Middle picture shows the colour best, I am besotted with this dress. It's so flattering and pretty.

The second is this cute dress from ASOS own brand in lilac, at £20 you cannot go wrong. It has a very cute sweetheart neckline, perfect for summer.

The third item is another Ted Baker dress but this one was reduced all the way down to £56..Sadly it is miles too long for me and too big.

The fourth and fifth are two jumpers that couldn't be more different. The disney one sadly turned out to be really thin and rough to touch so this is going back. Weep.

The second is a coatigan I have had my eyes on since November. Back when I worked at Monsoon I bought a navy cardigan that I still live in 5 years later, I decided it's time to bring another into the mix.. It is beautiful, so soft and cosy.

This whole shop set me back a whopping £222! Two items are going back but it's still a big dent in my credit card.

But they so pretty and you only live once right?
*innocent smile*
