Iphone 5s in my opinion

Awesome
Fun
Fast
and
Pretty

It has only been in my possession a little over 24 hours and I am already besotted with the damn thing.
It showed up yesterday lunchtime in the arms of our UPS delivery guy and lets just say I was bouncing off the damn walls.

First up let me tell you the basics. I opted for the 16GB in Champagne.

As you can see it isn't a horrible chav gold, it's more of a subtle golden shimmer.
I love the colour and I am so glad I opted for the Gold.

The fingerprint scanner is flaweless and freaking awesome if I do say so myself. You don't even have to push the home button just place the thumb over it and BAM you are in.

My cheeky Despicable Me background. Awwwwh.

Another one of the really cool new features is the slo-mo video option. I had hours of fun with that last night, I will upload some slo-mo footage of my cousins wedding next week for you to see. It captures at 125 frames per second. Basically it's so damn cool.

Apart from that there isn't much new. Obviously making the jump from a 4 to a 5S is massive, it feels like I actually have a smart phone again instead of a phone struggling to type.

Well worth the money.. I think.

Hello little golden ray of sunshine

My shiny new iphone is finally here!

I will post some pics/initial reaction tomorrow but zomg yay.

How to be a great bridesmaid..

Saturday is the day of excitement and love for my family.
The first of the 'kids' is getting married.

This is so damn exciting for us all mainly because my lovely cousin is marrying the man of her dreams but also because we all get to be together dressed up and looking dapper.

As I mentioned she is the first of the kids getting married, she is 25 so not so much a kid anymore but we still get shunned to the kids table on Christmas.

Being the youngest at 22 years of age I have never been to  a wedding..
Ever..

I think this is mainly because everyone was either married or too young by the time I made my entrance into the world.

There was nothing I wanted more than to be a bridesmaid when I was young so when my cousin called me on a cold December morning and asked me to be her bridesmaid I screamed with glee.

Literally.

So far since being selected for the duty I have come up with a list of things to be the best bridesmaid possible.

1) Don't let your ego get in the way.
If the bride wants you in a mud brown sack that is what you will wear and you will wear it with a smile.

2) Make sure the bride doesn't forget the little things.
Manicure, Pedicure, hair dressers, makeup artists,

3) Be on hand with a magical bag full of goodies.
Things like plasters, tissues, tampons, hair pins. Anything that anyone could possibly need throughout the day. Having some sneaky sweets is also a good idea to keep the energy up.

4) Be the first to crack open the bubbly at 10am.
The Bride wants it but doesn't want to be the one to open it.

5) Make sure your Bride has the best day ever.
And party all night.

I can't wait for my cousins wedding on Saturday, I will upload some pics next week.

New York wishlist

As you may have seen I am off to the best place on the planet in a short 4.5 weeks. What better way to prepare for the trip than making a shopping list of all the stuff I NEED to get when I am there.

1) A cosey plaid shirt

I love American Eagle a little too much but their plaid shirts are to die for. Definitely be picking up a few to keep me cosey this winter.

2) PINK hoodies from VS

Anything with sparkles is a winner for me. I am all over this hoodie.

3) Rebecca Minkoff Mini Mac

This particular mini mac is an exclusive for Nordstrom. Luckily there is one in NYC, can you guess where I will be heading? I love the colouring on this bag so versatility.

4) M&M Cushion

The last time I was in NY I picked up an M&M fleece blanket which is one of my favourite things. I have decided this year a pillow will be making it's way back.

5) A Sephora Haul

It's hard to say what I will get but I have no doubt it will hurt my bank balance. Especially as I have to get some treats for some of my friends from here.

6) Tiffany charm bracelet

This one is only if my boyfriend is feeling nice. I have always wanted one and to say I got it from Tiffany NYC takes the biscuit.

Of course there will be lots of other things picked up when I am out there but these are my main hankerings right now...

30 days and counting..

Perfume obession

Every now and then I come across a new perfume that blows all my other scents out of the water.
I then wear it for about 3 weeks non-stop and get bored of it.

I am really trying not to do that this time but my new perfume obsession is...
dum dum duuuuum.

Marc Jacobs Honey, of course.

I have no doubt you will have heard the reviews for this one as they are freaking everywhere but omg they are right. It is the dogs bollocks, it lasts for days and smells amazing.

I picked it up in Boots 2 weeks ago, I did get the gift set as you get a shower gel and a lotion for the same price as the regular bottle.
Great value and I love it.

I will be taking the shower gel to NYC and smell beautiful if I do say so myself.

New York City baby!!

I will be seeing you in 4.5 weeks!

google images

Let me rewind a bit, it was my boyfriends 21st birthday on Saturday and as a present his parents and myself are paying for him to go to New York City. Of course he needed someone to go with and that someone would be me.

I cannot wait to go back, it very much feels like a home from home for me.

Eeeeeep! Excited!!

The Walking Dead news

I was happily browsing buzzfeed when I came across the amazing fact that The Walking Dead season 4's premiere episode opened to 16.1 million viewers!

This means it beat out Breaking Bad's finale episode by 5 million!!

Holy crap The Walking Dead.

YOU ARE AWESOME!

The ratings blew away those for AMC's much-talked about Breaking Bad finale .

My love of tulle skirts

For quite a while I have been pinning photos like this -

need

Waaaaaaant

Cute outfit!

I first wanted one when I saw SJP in Sex and the City in one.

I just love the princess feel they have and the fact that you could wear it out and about without looking like a total freak. Especially in London.

So yesterday as I was watching my items run down on eBay I couldn't help but look for one and of course there are hundreds out there.

I chose this one..

It has cost me £5.84 from Hong Kong.
I chose the colour Apricot mainly because I think it will go with lots of things but if i find myself wearing it a lot I will of course purchase the mint and pretend to be Carrie.

If you have been looking for a tulle skirt check out this eBay shop.

Lets play!

Over the weekend I dropped into the lovely Lauren's house to play a super fun game called 'Heads Up'.
It is made by the one and only Ellen Degeneres and it is an app you can download.

Anyway Lauren being the bright spark she is decided to film us playing. This is going to be 1 of 3.

Enjoy and download the app to play yourselves!

Going back to the old music

Everyone has those few bands or few songs that can instantly take you back to being a kid. When lifes questions were more chicken nuggets or fish fingers? Instead of which mortgage to get or how to save petrol.

For me the music that makes me insta-happy comes from McFly and Busted.

It all started this morning when I watched the McBusted performance from McFly's 10th anniversary concert.

And now I find myself a good few hours later plugged into my itunes working my way through every single McFly/Busted song I own.

I am seriously trying not to sing out loud/bop along with the music right now.

Who is your insta-happy music?

Outfits of the week

Lots of winter outfits making their way out the wardrobe.

Ugg boots almost every day! Oooops.

Doctor Who 50th Anniversary stills

If you are a Whovian you have no doubt already seen these pictures but...

OMG I AM SO EXCITED!

Doctor Now, Doctor Then and Doctor Whom?

But Tennant also shot scenes inside his own old Tardis.
Photos from the BBC

My all time favourite Doctor is back in his beloved Tardis.

Bring on November 23rd.

Feeling the cold

#autumncovered #autumnadventures

If you are in the UK you will know just how bitterly cold it is outside this morning.
It was one of those mornings that you hear your alarm go off but the idea of lifting up your duvet fills you with fear.

I am a big lover of the cold and the snow but only when I can stay toastie and warm.

I don't think it is quite cold enough to bring out my fur lined parka just yet...
is it?

Beauty Advent Calendars 2013

'Tis the season to be jolly... almost.

With the terrifying fact that Christmas is only 10 weeks away it is time to start buying the beauty advent calenders that are taking women everywhere by storm.

Last year I was sneaky and bought the You Beauty advent calendar on Boxing day for half price. Sneaaaky but for a lot of the beauty advent calenders out there they are totally sold out by the middle of November so without further a-do here we go.

Number one without fail the most popular - Ciate's Mini Mani

Coming in at £42 it isn't over the top expensive but it isn't cheap.

Next up is Boots own Advent Calendar

Costing a friendly £30 and filled with lots of different brands I have to say if I am buying one it will probably be this.

You Beauty Advent Calendar

Last year I loved the packaging and if they go down to half price on Boxing day I will probably purchase again. Filled with loads of different pieces from skincare to makeup to tools. Can't go wrong.
It is £59.95 if you purchase before Christmas, they haven't released it yet so no link!

Selfridges Christmas Advent Calendar

If you are feeling rich/want to spoil a loved one on the run up to Christmas this year here is what you need. Selfridges being the amazing beautiful people they are have put together this little snippet of a perfect world. Including the majority of the best makeup brands/designers you really can't go wrong with this.
However at a whopping £84 this one will stay in my fantasy world.

Finally Benefit's Advent Calendar

By far one of the prettiest in terms of packaging, this lovely calendar is filled with a travel size of almost every major product Benefit carry, a bracelet, a necklace and a ribbon barrette.
Considering what you get for £50 I think this one is a must for all the Benefit lovers out there.

Most of these calendars are already on sale so if you are wanting one go find your credit card now!

From 'The Middle'

You should be happy with who you are.

Product of shame - Bourjois Paris Record Liner Noir Boyish Review

This bitch of an eyeliner should be shunned to the place where no beauty lover should ever be allowed to go.

Picked it up because I have Mac's Fluidline (which I very rarely use) and I liked the idea of the packaging, everything together and easy to use. But no.

The brush comes out the top and then you unscrew the main bit which allows you to access the pot of eyeliner.

So first up, the brush is bad, way too thick and almost impossible to create a clean flick with. Secondly the eyeliner substance itself is awful! It dries out unbelievably quickly and is just plain horrible.

Run away from it as fast as you can. Seriously.

Colour Tattoo - Metallic Pomegranate Review

If you hang out on my blog a lot you will know that I have a little bit of an obsession with the Colour Tattoo product.

At the airport before I jetted off on my holidays I had to go into Boots and see what duty free goodies they had. There weren't many but I just couldn't resist this little beauty twinkling in the corner.

Okay so lets cover the basics, the formula is amazing. Really pigmented and long lasting (seriously like all day) the thing that blew me away with this specific colour is just how blend-able it is.

This is it on my eyes today, it is the perfect autumnal shade with just a hint of shimmer. I used the tiniest amount and blended out with my finger. I am also wearing a tiny bit of brown eyeliner.

I wore it a lot on holiday as it gives you the smokey eye effect without the work. Adore it and now I feel the need to buy the rest of the collection.

Ebay round two

A few months a go I posted about selling lots of stuff on Ebay to clear out the junk and make myself some cash.

That time of the year has rolled around again where I am going into all of my winter clothes and noticing the summer items that never made an appearance.

My rule is if I haven't worn it for a year it is out.

Wish me luck, I think me and my wardrobe are going to have an argument tonight.

UPDATE - 10 items are currently up for grabs on Ebay with 3 more to go up in November. Phew. Goodbye old stuff.

Loving e-reading again

I am a very fickle reader, if a book doesn't grab me in the first 40 pages I tend not to read on *cough... Gone Girl.. cough*.

For this main reason I adore the fact that using Amazon's Kindle app/Kindle you can download the first chapter for free to see if you like it or not.

You can also get hundreds of books for free if you are feeling a tad poor but need something to read.

Here is a snapshot of just a few of the books I have on my Ipad.

A gift for the Bride..

I am not sure if I have mentioned this before but my Cousin is getting married in November.
I am very excited and a tad scared as it has now been decided that I have to read a poem... in the ceremony... Help..

Anyway I am completing my Cousin duties as a Bridesmaid, I have been really helpful and reminded her of all the stuff she will forget.

But now the sudden realisation has fallen on me that I need to get her a present and I am stuck! If you guys know of any good Bride style presents that I can get in under 3 weeks let me know!

So far I have thought of a personalised dressing gown, a ring dish, a painting with their names/wedding date incorporated and some champagne.

All pretty standard so I need some help!

If I was a rich girl..

*humming Gwen Stefani*

It's wishlist time bitches.
This month is a little high end but hey, that's what wishlists are for.

Ipad mini case from Kate Spade NY.

Another Kate Spade NY item, 'New York Map' scarf. LOVE THIS.

Ugg Noira Calf boot. £235 holy crap.

And basically everything Victoria Secret PINK sells..

Iphone 5S

My bitchin' new phone.

I ordered the Iphone 5S last week direct from Apple. It won't be here for another 2/3 weeks but I am so freaking excited.

I currently have an Iphone 4 and since updating to IOS7 I have noticed a lot of lag, it still works but I am an impatient little person so I knew I would end up throwing it against a wall.

I have currently got a clear phone case to keep it scratch free but I am hoping Santa will bring me one of these for Christmas.

Both are from the Kate Spade New York collection.

The Lying Games books

As you may have noticed I am obsessed with Pretty Little Liars.
I haven't read the books and seeing as a lot of people who have read the books hate the TV series I can say I am happy watching the TV show instead.

But last year the lovely Lauren told me about the Lying Games books, I instantly became infatuated. At the time I had just got my Ipad mini and was getting into the whole 'E-reading' world.

I read all 4 in about 3 weeks. I was well and truly hooked but my world came crashing down when I realised I was going to have to wait until February (it was around November) to continue the story. So I waited.
And I waited.

And then February 7th was here, I went onto amazon ready to say 'download' but it wasn't there.
Sadly Amazon clearly decided 'Cross My Heart, Hope To Die' wasn't worth putting up as a kindle read. And that was it, I didn't wan't to buy a hard copy as all the others were on my ipad and I just kind of forgot about the series.

Until last night.

It was a beautiful moment when I found it on Ibooks, downloaded and started reading the 5th book in the Lying Games series.

If you are looking for a series of books to loose yourselves in try these, they are all kinds of awesome with hints of PLL all over the pages.

Fake Longchamp

As you may have seen last week I posted about my quest for the perfect bag.
I have no doubt that this will not be perfect but I had to share it with you because of the value!

I have been wanting a Longchamp bag for almost 2 years now but the idea of paying £70 for what is essentially a waterproof tote makes me feel a little bit queasy. So last week when I was browsing Amazon for all sorts of fun things I came across this..

(sadly the photo is too small to copy so head to the link)

It costs a total of £9.97 with shipping and from all the reviews it sounds awesome!
Sadly it isn't here yet but as soon as I get it/start filling it with stuff I will share the photos of my new fake Longchamp.

Missing outfits of the weeks

*Slaps wrist*
I didn't take any outfit photos last week at all!
I don't know if it is because of the horrible cold wet stuff falling from the sky but I just wanted to wrap myself up in layers of blankets.
So if you can use your imagination just picture jeans and a different colour heavy knit jumper/cardigan everyday. I will start again this week though! I swear.

Quest for the perfect bag

I have been looking for the perfect handbag for years.
I always think as soon as I get a new bag "this is it, the one" and then after 2 weeks use I find all of it's flaws.
My latest bag to piss me off is the Cambridge Satchel.
There is nothing wrong with the bag, it is sturdy leather constructed well and very high quality.
It is just crap for me.

(if you want to know all my thoughts/review on the Cambridge Satchel I will put one up next week)

My issue is I like carrying my bags on my shoulders, I like them to be medium sized and lightweight.
I like to be able to throw my stuff in and be able to find it in under 10 seconds.

I feel like it isn't much to ask but maybe it is.

If you feel like you have the perfect bag tell me about it! Before I give up and settle for annoying.

2 weeks in paradise - Dominican Republic

Some of you may have been waiting for this since I got back.
I jetted off to the Caribbean with my lovely boyfriend for 2 weeks in paradise in the middle of September. It is still classed as hurricane season however we only had one afternoon of rain in 2 whole weeks. There were occasional lightning storms but no rain until the last day there.
We stayed at the Be Live Grand Marien in Puerto Plata, if you are going to that side of the island this hotel is perfect.
Anyway here are some snaps.

Storm rolling in on the last day

Candle of the month

We are well and truly getting into Autumn now, with the maximum temperatures being around 13 degrees today it is well and truly the return of the colder months.

This also means it is the return of nightly candle burning for me, I am a huge fan of Yankee candles and any time I see a new one kicking around I have to smell it. Back in July I burnt through the end of my Vanilla Satin (all time favourite which they seem to have stopped selling) and a shopping centre near me had just opened up a new Yankee store.

I picked up two lovely candles one being Pineapple Lime which has had a fair bit of summertime burning and the other was Fireside Treats.

It is unbelievably sweet but not sickly, it is that perfect autumn scent before we all get into the Christmas feel. I have burnt it almost every night since I have been home from my holidays.

I am trying to resist buying an £18 candle from Rituals but I have a feeling once this is burnt out I will be in there quicker than you can say bonfire night.
