See you soon

This is it, the moment I have been waiting for for 8 months!

I will see you lot when I get home from my holidays, have a good few weeks.

If you are looking to keep yourself entertained whilst I am gone I highly recommend The Ellen Show YouTube channel.

Be good.

Wrecking ball - Country cover

I am a big lover of YouTube covers, there is so much damn talent out there and sometimes you come across real diamonds and can spend hours on their channels.

Anyways I was on hellogiggles.com which is an awesome website and they posted this country version of Miley Cyrus' Wrecking Ball.

I seriously recommend you take a listen.

Personally I think it's great.

Mickey Ring

Omg look at those disgusting nails! I meant to re-paint them last night but Educating Yorkshire stole my attention.

This lovely ring I picked up in the ASOS sale for £9, I have been wanting it for ages and ages. It was originally £18 (I think) which I was not going to pay.

Anyways it comes one size only and fits my ring finger OR works as a midi ring, I love it on both and will definitely be taking it on my holidays.

Anything that is Disney and jewellery I just love.

Beware if you are wanting it and have chubby fingers like me it might not fit.

Outfits of the week - Last in September!

Happy Friday!
As you know today is the last day of blog posts for a little while. Here are todays and yesterdays outfits as I gave you a mid-week post.

Thursday, the rain has really set in now and I am really getting back into my Autumn wardrobe. Yesterday I wore my leopard print skater dress from Dorothy Perkins with Next thick leggings and a Monsoon jersey cardigan. I wore my trusty Uggs and my Cambridge Satchel.
I tied my hair up completely as it wasn't playing well with the rain.

Today is my final day at work for 2 and a half weeks! Woooo, it is also casual friday so I am wearing Henry Holland blue jeans, a striped tee from Dorothy Perkins and my leather jacket I talked about a few days a go.
Still styling the Uggs and Cambridge satchel.

3 and half days to go!

If you have been reading my blog from the start you will know I booked my upcoming holiday a long time a go (January to be precise). It has been a long time coming, at times feeling like it would never arrive but here I am with 3 and a half days to go!

I am seriously so excited I am having to stop myself bouncing off the walls!
This does mean that after Friday's blog posts my blog will be a ghost town until October 2nd when I return .SAD TIMES.

BUT October is a very exciting month so make sure you all come back :).

Last cheeky purchase

I AM SO BAD.

I also blame my lovely friend Zahraa for this one because she told me all about them!
Oasis released their winter parkas today and zomg they are lovely.

Buy Oasis Ellie Faux Fur Lined Parka, Khaki Online at johnlewis.com

My theory is when I get home from the Dominican it's going to be as cold as Alaska so I need something to keep me toasty. This is the winter coat I have opted for.

I don't know if it's going to be perfect but we will find out tomorrow when I pick it up in store.

The main reason for the instant purchase was that John Lewis are offering 20% off in their price match event taking this coat from £88 to £70.60.

They are selling out quick so if you want one at the discount rate GO GO GO!

EOS Lipbalm Review

I picked up an EOS lip balm from Amazon last week for £4.50.
I have been dying to try them for ages as they have taken the states by storm, I also thought it would be good for holiday as it has SPF.

It arrived this morning all they way from Florida and I must say.. I am a little disappointed.
Don't get me wrong the packaging is really cute and it will be really easy to find in my bag but it doesn't feel particularly moisturising. With the Babylips line or Macs lip conditioner you can feel the balm sink in and about an hour later your lips feel super smooth and soft. The EOS balm just kinda sits on your lips but doesn't do much.
I ordered the strawberry sorbet one, it doesn't really smell like strawberries more like a packet of sweets. I can see it getting a bit sickly!

Final Say - Next time I am in the states I might pick one up in a different scent but I am not running off to get more without smelling before purchase.

What do you think of the EOS range? Have you tried them?

Musical Obsessed

I thought I would share with you one of my favourite things.
I have loved going to the theatre since I was a teeny tiny human being and thankfully it has continued my whole life. I'm not sure how many shows I have seen but I am going to share with you my top 5 musicals.

Number 1 - Wicked
I have seen this 3 times now all in London. I love this show so damn much and I will sing my heart out to the soundtrack. If you haven't seen Wicked I seriously think you should get your skates on and go. It is amazing, I also was lucky enough to see it with Matt Willis (from Busted), this was a big moment for my inner 13 year old.

Number 2 - The Lion King
I saw this for my 21st birthday as tickets are not cheap. It was mind blowing, I don't know how else to explain it. The music is stunning and the costumes are just jaw dropping-ly clever. Highly recommend!

Number 3 - Beauty and The Beast
Now this one may seem a little odd as it hasn't been on in London for over 10 years, I think I was 11 when I saw it and to this day my whole family can't work out how The Beast changed into Prince Adam. It's annoying but shows just how talented stage designers really are. Love Love Love (Slightly bias because it's also my fave film).

Number 4 - Singin' in The Rain
I only saw this in the West-end recently but it was the second time I have seen it on stage. As always it makes me fall in love with the 1920's, oh how I wish we all went dancing every Saturday.

Finally number 5 - My Fair Lady
Again I saw this many years ago when Martine McCutcheon was starring as Eliza Doolittle, she was breathtaking and again I love the era.

I have been lucky enough to also see Mamma Mia, Thoroughly Modern Milly, Billy Elliot, One Man Two Guvnors (with James Corden) and more Shakespeare than you can wave a stick at.

For the future I am hoping to see Jersey Boys, Matilda and Top Hat. I am going to see Les Mis on December 31st, super excited to see the talented Carrie Fletcher!

Mid-week outfit run down

Its a pretty miserable day in England so I thought I would brighten it up by sharing my outfits of the week so far! You will notice one hell of a change from last week when I was wearing short sleeves and dresses.

The Uggs are back bitches.

Monday it was rainy and cold so I dug my trusty Uggs out from their summer hiding spot. I wore a long sleeved top from Dorothy Perkins (last winter season) and my M&S Jeans.
I also straightened my hair on Sunday night and I cannot believe how long it has gotten this year. I am hoping the Caribbean sun will also help it to grow a little bit more!

Tuesday it was raining again... and again I opted for black. Because I used to work as a Visual Merchandiser where I had to wear black 5 days a week I have a lot of it kicking around. Anyway Tuesday I wore this jersey tunic dress with 3/4 length sleeves from Dorothy Perkins, I accessorised with a pink waist belt from Accessorize which I think pulled the outfit together.
I wore black leggings and my Uggs. I also had on some blue bangles from Accessorize.

Today it feels like the weather has got even colder so I have had to delve into my cupboard and find my winter knitwear! The cardigan is from American Eagle and my top is from Next, I love the collar on it.
I am wearing my M&S jeans and Ugg boots. I have a horrible feeling these are going to become the same issue as my flip flops! I need to wear some more of my hundreds of pairs of shoes not just 2 pairs!

Iphone 5C & 5S

As you may have noticed I was really quite excited for the apple press conference last night, I had a live feed running on my phone and I was announcing all the interesting stuff to my boyfriend and his mum, not that they were really bothered. Anyway it was all very exciting finding out that the Iphone 5C is real, reading all about the tech specs and hearing peoples opinions about it. What is a total let down is the price!
Come on Apple, get with the programme. If they want to compete with Samsung and the Galaxy range they need to bring out a £300 phone but oh no, the 5C 16gb will set you back £450!!
There are rumors that it will be a better deal to get it on contract (I don't know how that will work but we can hope).

The 5S however gets my spidey senses tingling, it has a fingerprint scanner for gods sake. And it comes in a champagne colour!

Again it is a stupid amount of money at £560 for the basic model but I know a lot of people will want them.

I personally have made the executive decision to wait until I am back from my holidays, see if I like iOS7 then possibly purchase one.. See how poor I am feeling!

What do you think? Are you disappointed or excited?

Blog Make-over

I know I know I have to stop changing it up. I just love change so much but I promise I won't change this until the end of October.
What do you think guys? I am loving the falling leaves, gets me into the Autumn spirit.

Inspirational words from the web

I am a firm believer in words.
Song lyrics, books, poems, monologues from TV shows, anything with words. Words change everything.

Here are some of my favourite sayings, quotes and proverbs.

Who are you watching on YouTube?

YouTube has become TV for a lot of people, all of us tuning in every day to see what's new. Of course there are the fail videos and the random ones that make us smile but for a lot of us we tune in to see particular people and their videos. I thought I would share my favourite YouTubers with you here.

First up is Fleur De Force, I find her really easy to watch and tend to agree with her opinions on products. She talks all things hair and beauty with a bit of fashion and hauls thrown in for good measure. You can catch her on 2 different channels, Fleur De Force and Fleur De Vlog.

Next up is the Shaytards, I am new to the Shaytard fandom but they make me smile every day. Be warned if you get into them now they are ending their daily vlogs in May next year but they will still be around 3 days a week.

I of course watch my lovely friend Lauren's videos, she is new to YouTube so hit her up with some views.

Next up is the Sourcefed/PhillyD world. I tend to tune into TableTalk every day when I am working, it's almost like a podcast and very funny.

Finally are a whole host of vloggers including BFvsGF, Zoella, Sprinkle of Glitter, Jacksgap and Daily Grace.

Who do you watch on YouTube? Do you find yourself more on YouTube than in front of the TV?

For the love of coats

My Dad always says 'I love a good coat'.

This is something that was lost on me for many years, the majority of secondary school I refused to wear a coat as it was heavy and annoying to carry around. I stuck with my black hoodies underneath the trusty blazer and powered through the snowy days in just that.
Safe to say my views on coats changed and I now own about 3 or 4 which isn't many for a 22 year old but I want to tell you all about my favourite.

It is this little beauty, a Barney's leather jacket I picked up from ASOS in the January sale.

This is my first real leather jacket I have owned. I bought a fake leather one from Henry Holland and Debenhams for £22 in the sale and 3 weeks later I knew I had to invest. This cost me £95 (was £205) now that is a bargain if you ask me.

As England is now rapidly getting colder my trusty leather jacket has come out of it's summer hiding spot and I have fallen in love with it all over again.

Do you have a trusty coat you go back to year after year? Or do you head to Primark and pick a new one every season? Let me know below!

This or That tag (Fashion)

So I have seen this tag kicking around the blogosphere for a little while and decided to join in the fun!

Jeans or sweat pants ? Jeans..
This is tough because 90% of the time when I am at home I am in trakkie bottoms but I love jeans and think if it came down to choosing I would opt denim.

Long Sleeves or Short ? Short.
Even thought England is freezing I am still going with the short. Personal taste I guess and we can always layer it up!

Dresses or Skirts ? Dresses.
Hands down, I love dresses. I wear them a lot of the time and when I'm not I am in my trakkie bottoms!

Stripes or Plaids ? Stripes.
I have never ever been  a plaid girl, I have 2 flannel shirts but more stripes than I dare to count.

Flip Flops or Sandals ? Flip Flops.
I am yet to find some sandals that I like! I have never owned a pair... Ever.

Scarves or Hats ? Scarves.
Again a seriously tough one because I spend a lot of time in both but I love my big squishy scarves.

Studs or Dangly Earrings ? Studs.
Mainly because if there is a dangle to it, it tends to tangle in my hair. That being said I do have close to 20 pairs of dangly earrings.

Necklace or Bracelets? Necklace.
I love necklaces, I feel they really make a difference in an outfit.

Heels or Flats ? BOTH.
I can't choose, I love them both equally.

Cowboy or Riding Boots ? Riding boots.
Cowboy boots aren't really a thing in the UK, if they were I might like them more but for now riding boots.

Jacket or Hoodies ? Hoodies.
Hoodies are like my kryptonite. I love them, I have lots of them and I will continue to buy them.

I feel like even I know more about myself now! I am tagging Lauren from LaurenVlogs to do this little tag and all of you reading who have your own blogs out there to do it.

Apple excitement!

I am an Apple obsessive. Whenever they do their press conferences I set up a live feed on my computer and let it run so I can read the interesting parts without watching 3 hours of ramblings.
I can remember last year when they announced the Ipad mini, 2 weeks later I owned one.
This year it's all about the Iphone 5C and 5S, with all the rumors going around I am half expecting it to have legs and clean my room.

Tomorrow is an exciting day.

Personally I am hoping that the Iphone 5C is going to be real and come in a shade of pink.

What are you hoping for from Apple?

September, when TV gets awesome

The summers for me are always a little bland when it comes to TV. I watch a lot of american shows and the majority of them take the summer off from the end of June until mid-September.
At the time when I am watching all the finales it feels like it will be years until they return but hey, here we are the 9th of September and they are all coming back!

Spoilers ahead... you have been warned.

So my most anticipated has got to be Grey's Anatomy, we finished season 9 with Richard Webber being electrocuted lying a puddle of water not knowing if he's dead or alive. We are also waiting for Avery to be a man and whisk April off into the sunset. We have a new baby Shepherd/Grey called Bailey. We also have all the toils of Alex's love life and various other loose ends. First episode will be 2 hours long YAY!

Season premiere date - September 26th.

Next is Glee, this one is going to be tough to watch but nonetheless has to be done. I don't know what to expect but I can't wait to see if Blaine and Kurt get engaged.

Season premiere date - September 26th.

Big Bang Theory! The dark horse that makes TV so good. What's happened to Leonard and Penny after Leonard went off to live on a boat for 3 months?! Will there be baby news anytime soon for Howard and Bernadette? Who knowwwwws.

Season premier date - September 26th.

New Girl, possibly my favourite 'new' show. I put the '' there because 2 seasons isn't new but I feel like season 2 has cemented it as a favourite in my world. Who will Schmitt choose? Will Jess and Nick be together at last?!

Season premier date - September 17th.

All of these are release dates for America, if you are in the UK we will probably be waiting until January but remember the internet is your friend if you look hard enough.

September 26th is going to be a busy day!

7 days to go!

My holiday is now 7 days away, in fact this time next week I will be on a plane munching on pringles and maoam.

Last night I started packing as I like to be really organised I can't leave packing to the day before. Especially when I know things will be missing (like trainers I can swim in).
So what do you need to think about when there is 7 days to go? In my world I am now checking travel insurance, spending money, flight times, hotel confirmation, purchasing any last bits and putting together hand luggage.
Hand luggage has got to be one of the most annoying things ever because the bag is always too big to find what you need but you can't downsize due to the amount of stuff! I still haven't decided what bag is coming on the plane but as I know my lovely boyfriend wont have a bag I will be carrying all his junk too.

I am also starting to look at excursions and trips out that are available to us. There are loads and that's why I need the trainers I can swim in for waterfall jumping.

I am really excited for my holiday, it's my first 2 week holiday (that I can remember) and my first time going to the Caribbean. Bring on Monday 16th September!

Autumnal makeup

The past 3 days in England have all of a sudden turned Autumnal.
Thursday it was lovely, hot and sunny but now the rain has set in.. I even had to wear a jacket into work this morning!
Along with the changes in weather that Autumn brings, changes in makeup are massive. Goodbye to the sugary shades and income the blacks and browns ready for as all to look dark and mysterious.

You will have to ignore the fact I look like a deer caught in headlights, it was early but I wanted to show you what makeup I have gone for today.
I used my new colour tattoo all over my eyelids with Soap and Glory's supercat liquid eyeliner. Finished off with the L'Oreal million lashes mascara.

I love dark makeup, I think it gives much more of a pop to my eyes and looks like it has taken ages when really its been pretty simple.

What do you think, are you going to miss the pastels or are you a dark makeup lover?

Outfits of the week

Goood morning! It's Friday woohoooo!
That means it's time for my outfits of the week, only got 4 to post today as one photo has gone missing..

Top is from Monsoon years ago, it is a coral ombre tank top. I wore this with my M&S black jeans and nude ballet pumps.

This top is from Dorothy Perkins, it is a Mint Pussybow blouse. Super light weight but you do have to wear a cami underneath due to it being so thin. My trousers are Monsoon and my flipflops are Accessorize.

Thursday was hot stuff so I opted for this plain black v-neck top from M&S with a ditsy print skirt from H&M. Flip flops are Accessorize.

Finally onto Friday. The weather has changed and it feels like Autumn today, I have opted for my new top from American Eagle, with my Topshop Jamie jeans. My shoes are the healed sparkly sneakers from Office.
I also added my superdry green hoodie as I walked out the door as it was peeing with rain.

American Eagle Shop

Good afternoon!
Sorry for the lack of blog posts yesterday, I don't have an excuse I was just too lazy to put my fingers on the keys. Anyway today is another day and I am back with some snaps of the items I ordered from American Eagle. It might not look like much because I didn't think you would be interested in the socks I ordered but anyways here we go.
First up is something I have actually sent back, this is a shift dress which looked freaking amazing on the model but awful on me. I ordered a size larger to be on the safe side as America doesn't really tailor for boobs but it was just plain nasty.

It didn't come with the belt, that was just me trying to make it better. Anyways this has gone back to America, hopefully will be there soon so I can gets my cash back!
Next up is this hoodie, I am obsessed with comfy cosy snuggly clothes and even though this isn't a thick hoodie I will probably live in it. Perfect for throwing on under a leather jacket for a bit of extra warmth.

Again I was an idiot an ordered a medium instead of a small so it is a bit baggy but its fine for me.

Finally is this top which is my favourite item by far.

Excuse the all grey look I was still wearing my work jeans but yes I love tops like this. Even more so because it has NYC on it.

On top of these items I ordered 2 pairs of boot socks like this.

AEO Colorblock Boot SockAEO Colorblock Boot Sock

I also got a brown leather belt which I now can't find on the website. If you fancy shopping from American Eagle they do ship internationally and it works out quite cheap if you are in the UK. They also have a sale on at the moment yay!

Best snack ever

For those of you who might not know I am a keen baker, I have been baking for many years and I would say at the moment it is my main hobby.
Now over the weekend I had some overly ripe bananas hanging around and decided to make some yummy banana bread from the Hummingbird bakery recipe book. It is super tasty let me tell you that, I did however forget to take a photo of them just out the oven and 1 loaf was very swiftly eaten and now there is half a loaf hanging around... perfect for late night snacking.
I am one of those people who is almost always hungry but during my actual meals I don't eat much, so basically I am a cow and I need to just graze all day. At 9:30 last night the hunger grew too much and I caved in to a slice of my banana bread.. but not on its own oh no. Banana bread with nutella and a big ol' glass of milk is my idea of yum.

It's so yum I couldn't even wait to take a bite.

L'Oreal Volume Million Lashes - Review

First up I am a sucker for rubber wand mascaras, I find them the best so if you don't get along with rubber wands you won't like this.

If you do get on with rubber wands go and buy this now! It is awesome, super easy to apply, glides on and allows you to build it up.

I didn't curl my lashes before applying so I can only imagine how amazing it would be with the lashes curled. I don't like my bottom lashes to be super chunky and this mascara allows me to keep them elongated without looking like spider legs.

Final say - Love it! Really good mascara that seems to stay where you leave it.

I will update if my opinions change.

L'Oreal Superliner Blackbuster - Review

I am a total eyeliner junkie, I have more than I could ever possibly use but it doesn't stop me buying more. Last week I ordered a few things from Feelunique.com and the L'Oreal blackbuster eyeliner was one of them.

Sadly this product has been a big disappointment, considering it's name is blackbuster I was expecting it to be as black as can be .. it's not. It took 3 applications to get it to the real black we all know and love.

(I will take a better photo tomorrow I promise, this one is terrible quality.)

After getting it to the desired black it is okay, doesn't have a huge amount of staying power but it hangs around for a bit.
Final Say - Let down, won't be re-purchasing.

If my opinions change I will of course update this post.

Monday 2 September 2013

What happens when all the delivery people arrive at once?

My work area gets filled with stuff, that's what!

I am stating now that not all of this is mine in fact at least half is the boyfriends new wardrobe from American Eagle and some swimming shorts from ASOS (because I insisted he can't wear one pair for 2 weeks).
But lets start with the obvious, you can see a Vivitar camera which I have purchased for holiday, it is waterproof so I am hoping to get some cracking photos of us in the sea.
Underneath the camera is my order from feel unique, really excited about all of that, already been smelling the conditioners and swatching the makeup.
On top of the ASOS package is a beach ball again for holiday.
The ASOS package is 2 pairs of swimming trunks for the mister.

... the large box is from American Eagle, I would love to blame the boyfriend for this but unfortunately it was me who went on the website on bank holiday Monday and snagged a few bargains.
They have had 40% off for the last week so stuff becomes such good value especially if it is already on sale, it makes it worth the £32 shipping especially if you can find someone to order with so it's only £15.
I will of course show you the awesome stuff inside once I get home and see it all myself!

Monthly favourites from August

So it is September and that is scaring me, but it's time for monthly favourites, Yay!
First up has got to be my snazzy trainers, these came from Office and they are awesome. Dressy enough that I can get away with wearing them out but so comfy! I can tell I will probably be in them most of the winter.

Second is banana chips, only just got back into these after many years away but I forgot how good they are. Seriously moreish and they stop you reaching for the chocolate and crisps. Win win if you ask me.

Third is The OC, I've been a fan since I was 13 but every few months I go back to my dvds and re-watch it. I am currently getting to the end of season 1 and remembering just how damn good it is.

Fourth is Tripp Luggage, now this one seems a little weird but as you all know I am off on my holidays soon and I purchased a snazzy new suitcase from Tripp back in the Debenhams sale. When I bought it I wasn't sure about the size because it looks quite small but it's perfect, I started trial packing just to see how the size would shape up and already I can tell it will be just right for all my future trips.

Mulberry holiday 4 medium suitcase

I have no doubt I will be adding to this list over the next week so keep checking back.
